Housemartins é uma banda inglesa, formada originalmente em 1983 pelo vocalista Paul Heaton, o guitarrista Stan Cullimore, o baixista Ted Key e o baterista Chris Lang. Os membros da banda mudaram com uma certa frequência durante a carreira. Ted Key foi substituído por Norman Cook (futuro Fatboy Slim) e o bateirista Chris Lang foi substituido por Hugh Whitaker, antigo baterista da banda The Gargoyles que em seguida foi substituído por Dave Hemingway.

Foram lançados um total de três álbuns e diversos singles, os três albuns foram: London 0 Hull 4 (Junho de 1986), The People Who Grinned Themselves to Death (Setembro de 1987) e o Live At The BBC (2006). Dentre os singles, está Build, lançada em 1987.

Build canta a magia de construir, neste caso um lar, mas pode representar tudo aquilo que construímos, pouco a pouco. Algo que ao final representará uma totalidade imensurável, talvez uma história.
